With 4 weeks to go to Ironman LP, this is the last chance for slowtwitcher going there to pile on the miles. Myself, I am not competing, but if you read my posts on the Tupper Lake Half Ironman thread, I feel the need to pile on some serious bike miles, before the Peterborough Half Ironman in two weeks, so I thought I’d use all you guys and gals (as well as my real life training partners training for LP), to up the training.
Here are my plans for the week. I’ll post daily on my progress, and perhaps you guys can too and we can keep each other motivated. For me this is a back to the basics, scaled down version of a Gordo-Clas-Bjorn-Molina training week.
Here goes:
Monday: Bike 30K in the morning, run 60 min easy at lunch, Bike 25K in the
home in the evening (3 hours)
Tue: Bike 15K-run 20 K brick in the morning, ride 25K ride home in the evening (3
hours)
Wed: 90K hard ride in the morning (2800 ft vertical), swim at lunch, plus 20K in the evening ride home (total 110K)
(4.5 hours)
Thu: 100 mile 6400 ft vertical ride on Canada day (6 hours)
Fri: My 10th Anniversary, Rest or swim for 60 min
Sat: Run 2 hours 10x3 min steep hill repeats
Sun: Ride 100 miles 6400 ft vertical (6 hours)
Total 23-25 hours and then curl up in a ball and hope I can recover before the Peterborough Half Ironman in on July 11th !
So far today I have done the 30K ride in the morning (1 hour done, 24 hours to go)
