im doing france this year but Im having a very hard time finding much info on the bike course other than the total elevation gain(about 6,000 ft.)
Does anyone have an elevation chart(the ironmanfrance website does not)?
Also, what is the elevation gain in some of the IMNA races?
Thanks
does everyone hate france?
No just the French.
Ahem. That is the non-PC joke I am semi-allowed to make as an Englishman jealous of their country.
My mate did the race last year and had a great time - he did it on a road bike but I can’t tell you much more than that I’m afraid. It’s a beautiful area if you can take time off to explore.
P.S. Do you have anything to do with the bike brand C4?
sometime after last year’s, there was a quite good (and long) race report from an american who’d done it.
i realize that this might not be the most useful information… i’ll take a look for the thread.

I’d appreciate that as I am looking at 2008.

.
no just a mix of first and last names.
The description of the nice bike leg depends om what you are used too…
I would describe it as partly flat with some really long (but not steep) climbs with fast decents. Recommend normal tri-bike. But have seen other (probably living in flat areas, and not good bike handlers) describing is as rather hilly with dangerous decents - recommending road bike.
6000 feet total climbing in 180km is not really much. A bit more than Kona and Austria.
The longest climb is about 19km

I took a look for it, couldn’t find it.
I’m thinking that there was a link to the RR, instead of the RR in the forum.
Hunh. It was a good read, I remember that much.
Sorry.
