Ironman Foods?

What do you eat during your ironman?

I eat Pretzels and beef jerky…in addition to the standard drinks, gels, and bars…just wondering what others do for “Ironman meals”…

I typically find that clif bars, gu, and gatorade work well for me.

Last year, when training, I loved pirogies on the bike. An easy, tasty, handheld blast of carbs and sodium.

I just get sick of the “fake” foods…seems like my stomach cries out for some real food during the race…Perogies aren’t a bad thought…

not much solid food at all - most of my caloric needs were addressed through carbo pro and water - along with gatorade every ten miles.

Odd timing. I bought a box and cooked them for lunch today. Not bad…

But how in the world would you prepare those for IM?

Straight liquids. 400 calories per hr, 15 gms protein, 450 mg sodium. No pills or gels. Only way to fly.
