What would be the best way to register for the 2008 Florida Ironman?
Go to the race site or register the first day they open online registration?
If you want to take your chances, sign-up online… The easiest way to guarantee an entry is to be on-site…
I signed up on-line last year. Had my USAT card and credit card ready. Had the page on Active.com ready. Once registration was open I began hitting the button. Took about 5 min to get in and registered. Found out race closed 15 min later.
So to be safe go to the race and sign up in person.
Otherwise just be ready and on-line 15 min before the registration opens and start trying. Even then if you don’t get in you can get community fund entry.
i echo the others. Google toolbar has an autofil button that might speed you up. This won’t help you but once you’ve registered (or at least they used to) active.com emails you an “Ironman ID” you can login with this and most fields are filled out.
At this point there is no guarantee that there will be any online registration. Even if there is, the number of slots will be very small and the chances of getting in not that great. If you really want to do the race you should probably show up the day after and sign up.
Also, if you’re doing online registration, all the fields where they ask personal questions like your greatest triathlon achievements, etc., just type one letter and move on to the next field.
I got in online this year for IMLP next year, and the online signup lasted all of 10 minutes before they sold out, so you really want to be efficient when signing up online!
