Really stupid question… where is the timing mat at the finish line at Ironman events? Is it under the finish arch or a bit before or a bit after?
Under the arch. The one before is for the announcer to see your name just before you finish.
That is correct, right under the arch.
You don’t see it has its under the carpet at most finish lines. The one 30-40m before the finish is the announcer line.
