Did I miss the thread for pro IM Chat? Looks like Jackson quite a ways out in front of Sam long
Who is quite a ways ahead of Skipper.
But hard to tell with the time trial start

I hate the tracker for TT starts. I think JL in 1, SL in 2. My ag friend will have to wait over an hour to see where he finishes as well.
Was hoping someone here could clear this up! It looks like Sam might be closing in on Jackson at 10 seconds a mile faster and will have to see if he can close the gap over the last half marathon
Marc Dubrick is there and was doing a live Instagram here and there. Maybe he’ll go live again soon.
Based on the tracker, I am guessing that Sam has already made the pass for first. We’ll see if he can get under 2:40 at this pace - hard to tell from the tracker how fast he is actually running.
You are correct Sam Lon won it
That is definitely his best Ironman run to date, and will be curious to hear his thoughts on it.
If that bike course was accurate, does that mean that Jackson Laundry now has the fastest Ironman bike split ever? Or does it only count if there was a swim?
Solid win for Sam but Cody ran 2 minutes into him and almost took the top spot. Curious to hear if that was Sam just cruising it in the last 10k or did he start to feel the fatigue of the full.
Great run by Beals, happy to see him doing well. I’m guessing the bike course was a bit short … my friend that I’m tracking rode 4:54 and the tracker says he did an average pace of 21.93mph … 4.9hrs x 21.93 mi/hr = 107.5mi. Times seem too fast for the full 112.
I read bike was 108 miles.
I was wondering about this looking at some times as well.
Bike was only 108 miles.
Run was also about 1k short.
Sam Long’s Strava shows a fairly standard 42k marathon (and a well short bike course).
What will certainly provoke comments behind the scenes is that another relatively unknown athlete from Mexico came up with the fastest run at 2:37.
Dude’s been running obnoxiously fast off the bike all year (PTO has him ranked #15 globally for run splits).
Stinks at swimming and biking, though.
Guess who his trainer partner is
Stoked for Cody to get his WC slot, felt pretty sorry for him with most of the last races he’s done having the swim cancelled
Pretty emotional instagram post by him. He was really needing today.
Great result for Cody. Not great for Skipper, hope this doesn’t break him.
From listening to Skipper, seems like he had a chilled attitude to this race and not a “now or never” one. Basically it seems no amount of TEH SUCK in racing will break him IMO. Hope I’m right.
