I got an email this morning from Team Diabetes Canada. They offered to let me buy an Ironman Canada spot for $1000 (didn’t specify currency, assume C$ but don’t know). This includes entry, cycling jersey and singlet and $375 tax receipt for charitable donation. They do the ‘if you raise $$$ we give you a spot thing.’ I guess they didn’t have enough people for the spots they have. Don’t know the number of spots or whatever but the person to contact is

That is a good deal. Is it up for grabs?

They usually “buy” a certain number of spots each year to use as fund raisers. As the race approaches, they sell off the extra spots. I am pretty sure that is $1000CAN so it is a good deal. I would imagine they pay IMNA the $400US and keep the difference.
