Ironman Bike Shoes

I am aiming at my first Ironman in 9 months. I have raced a few Half-IMs and used Sidi T2 Tri shoes with zero troubles.

I also do some training in Specialized Road shoes. These have been equally comfortable but I broke a snap and need to replace them.

With a purchase in mind I wanted to see what people thought of as good Ironman Biking shoes. I have never surpassed 70 miles and I am curious if I will still love my Tri shoes at 112.

With finishing my main goal what would you do?

Specialized tri vents have always worked well for me. I use them as my road shoes, and racing du/tri (sprint to IM). Under 60 degrees out they get pretty chilly though.

I had the same shoes and was fine up to 100 miles or so and then I would get really bad pain. That’s just me though, plenty of people have no problems, you’ll find out by training. I wear LG tri shoes now, they’re wider and that works better for me.

If its the strap just pop into your local bike shop and they might give you a free one or it will be max $10

I have a pair of Time RX Tri Carbons and have had zero issues in any race distance including IM. If the shoes fit well and are comfortable I think you will be fine.

Most buckles will break at one time or another why risk it.

specialized BG trivent have performed well on all my rides and ironman races. huge fan. you could give those a try, otherwise just stick to what has worked in the past.

I used the T-1 Last year and have the T2.6 now. Love them both.
