Does anyone know what goes on at an IronGuides training camp? I just signed up for one in Penticton in June for several reasons… the timing is perfect for me, Penticton is a great place to train, the weather should be decent and I’m doing IMC in Aug… but to be honest I don’t know a whole lot about Ironguides, their training methods or exactly how the camp is structured. Has anyone ever attended one of their camps? I am hoping it’s heavy on the training and a bit lighter on the theoretical stuff. Any first hand experience out there?
I have no experience with Ironguides. I visited their website, but camp schedule is tentative, so I can’t tell what they’re about. I see a picture of Chrissy Wellington on the website, I suspect they’d have to have her permission to use her image. (though I don’t see any mention of CW).
If it’s your first IM or first IMC, it’s good to see the course and train in Penticton. If it were me, I’d contact them to ask specifically what I’m getting. And I’d go into the camp with a few things I’d expect them to address specifically for IMC.
Maybe stick around another day or 2 and ride the course, or parts of it (Richter, rollers, Yellow Lake). Not a bad idea to run the hills on the marathon course too.
Go to the Bike Barn for info on group rides; Peach City Runners for any runs.
Penticton is home to seasoned IM vets, top AG’s, and top pro’s.
