I am thinking of doing the IM 70.3 Vietnam in May 2015. It will be the first there and it looks very promising.
I am from The Netherlands (Europe) and when I am going I will go with my wife and combine it with a 2 weeks vacation. After the IM we want to travel for about a week. See some other place there. And there where the bike problem comes in.
can’t find anything about a good racing bike rental. I email the organization couple of days ago but no answer yet. When I have to bring my own bike we have problem with traveling around afterwards. There seems to be no luggage storage at Da Nang airport (did’t find any on their site or google).
Who has a idea how to tackle this problem? I a sure may of you faced the same problem at other far away Iron Man events.
Been to Vietnam last year, seen many bikes no race bikes or shops though.
The best option might be, depending on the hotel you first check in, to leave it there for a little fee. Maybe it’s worth to pay a little more for the first stays and have a secure place for the bike than backpack and come back with none.
No. Been to Hanoi (funny goin for a run at 5 in the morning around the lake inside old hanoi with bunch of hanoians doin the morning excercises),
Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc.
For a little fee a lot is possible down there. Great vegan/vegetarian food in the cities.
