The **Iron Abe Triathlon **(an intermediate course triathlon) will start at 7:30 am on July 29, 2007 at Lake Springfield. Participants will swim 9/10 of a mile in the lake and then bike 24.8 miles on rolling prairie. Runners then embark on a 6.2 mile run. An awards ceremony will follow after the last runner crosses the finish line. The Iron Abe is a is national qualifier for the USAT national championships scheduled for September 2008 in Portland, OR. Iron Abe is also a national qualifier for the USAT Junior Development Series for youths age 13-19. $3,500 in cash awards will be given to the top three male, female, clydesdale and Athena finishers.
The **Stoneman Sprint Triathlon **will start at 8 am on July 29, 2007. Stoneman participants will swim 500 yards in the lake and then bike 12 miles on rolling prairie. Runners will then follow a 3.1 mile course. An awards ceremony will follow after the last runner crosses the finish line.
This race is a rare opportunity to meet some of the greats of ST. Bruce Wayne (from the conservative right) and YaHey (from the liberal left) will be racing. The weather should be in the 80’s during the race.
This race is set to be the greatest clash of internet persona’s the midwest has ever seen!!!
