couldn’t help but notice that Iraq is sending quite a few athletes this year, including a… ahem…shooting team…but won’t have any multisport peeps as the games set up Triathlon for the first year.
My money is on 1999 ITU World Champ Dmitri Gaag from kazakhstan. I wonder if Vinu and I could have made the Indian team…only 2 athletes racing out of 1 Billion people…bummer:

looks like a good bet. its pretty cool they decided to get multisport going for the games. i am surprised though at how many countries are not participating. heck if Lebanon can cough up a triathlete you’d think the rest of 'em could.
The shooting team should be pretty good.
I wonder if “Jubah” will be participating. He’s probably not even Iraqi, so I doubt it.
What’s too bad is that there are no female triathletes from India at Doha, even though I know that they exist. We even had one make the trip from India to Canada to compete in the Canadian Irondistance here in Ottawa!
really odd no indian girls…last time they raced here. all were fast even the guys…they had an aussie coach then
are they racing somewhere else?
not sure really. haven`t seen the indian team for 2 years now. they might have been dissolved or no budget. we were amazed with their girls, they ran barefoot when they first joined our ITU points race in the philipines years back.
