I agree it ain’t right… they could have used a cap and a technical long sleeve jersey to cover their heads instead of the scarf and dresss. Otherwise it’s a cultural thing…

I remember hearing how a number of Middle Eastern female athletes were overjoyed with the move to bodysuits in elite swimming because a full fastskin suit met the modesty requirements in a number of the compratively liberal Muslim countries.
After seeing an Iranian-American woman set a world record in the 50M back earlier this year, I’d love to see what other women rom that region could do with access to a western-style swim training program.
