Is it small enough where you can shove it in a pocket of your running shorts and run with it? I don’t want to wear an arm-band and hope its light enough to not bounce around too much.
I’m hoping to get mine tonight (provided the store has a few left).
i’ve had such bad luck with ipods but i was still thinking about buying a shuffle until my buddy told me yesterday his broke after 3 months of running with it. he thinks the sweat F*cked it up. i just don’t think those things were made for use with heavy exercise.
I have had to send my 40GB iPod back three times. Turns out the problem was 100% user error - I kept the thing in my car and it just got too hot and would mess up the HD.
I got a shuffle a few weeks ago and haven’t had a problem with it yet. I use an arm band in the Gym and have never actually gotten sweat on it.
The best thing about the Nano is the flash memory - skip free for running and makes the device much, much more durable. Color screen is just bling to me, I rarely take my Shuffle out of shuffle mode, so I don’t need a screen.
Can you take a picture of it next to something we can all recognize (pack of cards, CD, etc.)? I’m trying to get a better understanding of it’s dimensions.

I run with my iShuffle all the time, carrying in my sweaty hand. Never a problem. I’ve also had no problems with my mini, and before I got the shuffle, I carried the mini to run all the time. I’ve had both a long time (mini for 18 months?; shuffle since about the 3rd day they came out).
I put mine in a zip lock bag to keep it dry. I cut the bags with hot knife to make the right size bag. With a small hole for the headphones.I have and love my shuffle. I like podcasts for a long run day.
