Ayone else find their iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch has severe battery drain with the new iOS 5? My iPad used to last about 10 hours and now I might get 5-6.
Same thing happened to my iPad. I noticed more in terms of standby time – I’d lose about 30% of the battery overnight.
I took it to the genius bar and they did a DFU (Direct Firmware Update), then I did not do a restore and set the iPad up as new. I could reload apps from iTunes, but settings and app specific data had to be redone. Battery life back to what it was before.
Location services where likely enabled with the update and kills battery.
Tweak some settings. Turn off location and notifications for app you don’t want or need em ( seriously all these lame games need that? )

I did that, as well as turned off iCloud and bunch of other stuff. It made my standby time better, but when I use it, it is still going down really quick. I love apple stuff, but I don’t think they had all the bugs worked out on this one. Now my android phone is easily out performing my iPod touch and iPad. I also now have this weird lag when I am typing or if I try to open an app. Time to go to the Apple Store…
