I’ve used ICU for a couple years now. Love it and does the same things I would use TP for but I don’t have to pay for it.
Another feature I’ve just found that I’ve been after on TP forever…
I can compare arbitrary intervals against an arbitrary metric across time. EG, here is a chart of intervals at 75% threshold-pace, on outdoor runs, since 16 September, that shows pace-efficiency as yards per beat. I defined the custom metric using JavaScript. Then then told ICU (using Compare Activities) to select only intervals from 65-75% threshold-pace, since 16 September that were outside, and I get this chart:
I just discovered another feature, probably old hat for most of you, in that I can set a different indoor FTP vs outdoor. That’s pretty valuable to me, since I’m using a pretty basic smart trainer (Tacx Flow) that I know reads about 15-20watts lower than my Quarq. Up until now, I’ve been using the quarq as the power source, but I really don’t want to have that bike tied to the trainer, I’d like to be able to use one of my other bikes as a dedicated trainer bike.
Compare activities is awesome feature. very helpful to see differences between different power meters and trainer, GPS accuracy, etc. Helps make sure you have consistency in your equipment.
