Firefox is so much better then IE.
Oh the Adobe thing reminds me of my other pet peeve… tools that, on installation, automatically assume you want them to take over as the default widget for whatever.
Not too big a deal these days, as most programs generally ask, but still annoying when it happens…
Sorry, a slight hijack, perhaps.
That’s illegal now…and I’d be sure to report it. Software should ask if you would like to set as default upon installation. Of course, if you do…the original software might pop-up and tell you it’s been changed and if you want it set-back. ;o)
You can always view your defaults here:

Uhm, actually it is one of the questions when you installed Windows or IE 6. Now if it came pre-installed blame the company you bought the PC from. And yes most set it to automatic so they dont get calls from users asking uhm what should i do accept the update or not, hey why is this asking me why not just update it.
Interesting… didn’t know it was illegal. Hasn’t happened in a while, and that would explain why…
Oh well…
Opera, has it improved. I used it in the past, just to many issues, and FF 1.0 was better. I like FF2.0 because of the built in spell checker anywhere you type. IE7 about up to FF1.0. Of course IE just lost a lot of use from me, cause I can now post pics on ST with FF.
It was a security update and an upgrade. The reason it was pushed was because of the security, not the upgrade. The initial press release was back in mid-summer.
They say it was pushed because of security but it is so important a security upgrade that they have not pushed it in all regions - here in Japan for example it is still on the optional upgrade list and will be for a few months.
I can’t believe they didn’t release the Finnish version 1st! ;o)
Seriously though…there are 24 different languages (and 3-4 versions per language) and released based upon threats/risks. Whether it is optional is based upon the countries software policies/laws.
My guess is the release schedule is published on MSDN.
IE7 has f’ed up my computer. I want my IE6 back. If I unistall IE7 will my PC revert back to IE6? I’m afraid if I unistall IE7, I won’t have a version of IE available.
BTW, if you couldn’t tell, I’m not the least bit tech savvy.
If you uninstall 7 it won’t revert back to 6. Are you having other problems or is it just IE? I’ve been running 7 for a while now with no problems…
It’s slow as hell and keeps freezing. It’s extremely tempermental when you try to launch a new page from an existing one. “The server is not responding, blah, blah, blah…” The tool bar sucks, too.
I would just uninstall IE completely, then reinstall 7 fresh. You are running XP Service Pack 2 right?
Have you looked to see whether your add-ons are causing a problem?
