Has anyone tried to do internal cable routing on Hed S-Bend Aerobars? Ive got a set of aluminum clip-ons Ill be swapping out on a new bike and would prefer internaly routing the cables over zip-tying them to the bars. Im not timid in the shop, can I just drill holes into them half-way back (like Profile Design bars) and run the cables out there?
I would make a template…
go get some aluminum and first drill a whole in it the diameter of the extensions…
then drill two holes to make an oval ~3x the size of the hole…connect with a file/dremel.
then clamp to the extensions - then run your drill/mill throught the template - prevents mistakes…
make sure you make two holes - one where the cable comes in and one where it comes out…

Maybe I misunderstood but are they S-Bend Cliplites? If so, can’t you just route the shifter cable through the split-hole on each clamp?
