This is an interesting lot because:
a) It’s a genuine (?) frameset ridden by World TT champ.
b) It’s an easily identified bike with a different manufacturer’s name on to meet sponsorship demands. As we all know this isn’t that unusual but this is a new combo to me.
c) It will be interesting to see if many bid on a frame which has a (perceived) inferior manufacturer’s name on it. You would need to be a big Armstrong fan or have a real eye for a bargain.
I saw that last night and wondered the same thing. How would you ever verify it was Armstrong’s?

I would guess the onus is on Zen to prove it or some researching would do so if they don’t come up with a certificate of provenance.

I would ride a bike that said, “SH!^ EATER” on it if I could get a good deal on a really good bike. But, that is just me. I always hope to be so fast that nobody can read anything on my bike. Fashion is one thing, but fast is everything.
Yeah, but riding a bike with shiteater would be cool, Fuji…
Well, the only tri bike I have ever owned as Fuji written on it and it actually is a Fuji. And somehow, that still has not prevented me from passing most everyone on their cervelos.
And there is nothing wrong with that. I don’t see that putting Fuji on a Cervelo would appeal to many people just as putting Raleigh on a Colnago would.
As you suggest, it is about the engine.
