I’m probably showing my age, but the whole Amanda Beard sex symbol thing does bother me because I remember the innocent looking little girl that had the teddy bear with her at the 1996 Olympics. But, since she is now 26, I also wonder if she has thought about, or if anyone close to her has asked her, what her children are going to think about her posing in Playboy?
That’s the point I made in an earlier post. Many people remember her as the little girl clutching the stuffed animal on the podium. We all kinda grew up with her over the years. So, we are not talking about some adult female choosing to pose naked. We are talking about the little girl we brought into our homes with the hopes and dreams of our little girls growing up the same way.
As I stated before, personally, I have no issue with her decision. I do, however, feel it is very unfortunate that this could have fairly significant impact on the self image of children and others.

Do you think that we don’t realize she grew up? Do you still look at the girl next door when you were five as the five year old or as the beautiful cheerleader who could do a great kegstand that she became?

Explain how Beard posing nude could have a “fairly significant impact on the self image of children and others” I keep hearing this but I haven’t really read a real example of what will occur.
