Interbike (1)

By coincidence I will be in Vegas at a Trade Show (ATA) during the week of interbike. I have been told that non industry people - (athletes that don’t work in in the industry) can’t get into the show…2 questions - is that correct and if so how do I find a way around it? Tibbs would understand - an opportunity to look at bike porn all day (as opposed to Vegas porn) is too good to pass up…

That is correct. Participant lists had to be submitted weeks ago.

I’m not sure if there’s any way around it. I hear they’re fairly strict.

It is strict, you need credentials at the door
.

BTW , not sure, but if you are going to be there, stop by the Rotor booth on Tuesday the 5th
.

As a Vegas local, this sucks. I’d love to attend, but they don’t let just anybody pass thru the door. Years ago in my bike shop days, I went to several in Anaheim, several here, and even a few in Chicago (remember CABDA). Always had a blast and I’d love to go again.

I’m still hoping one of my few remaining industry contacts can get me a pass!

Press credentials will get you in the door nearly everytime - contact the media relations desk for Interbike (interbike.com) and see what it takes to get registered as a journalist for your local community paper! Failing that, find a Domino’s or Papa Johns delivery driver and offer them some money for the shirt off their back and take one of those padded, zippered double wheel bags (looks like a Pizza carrier - grin) and pretend to be delivering Pizza to one of the vendors at the show!
