Included in the package of DA brake cables are two(2) black plastic end caps. Where in the cable installation process do these gizmos go?? Do they fit on the brake side where the cable meets brake…?? or are they used where cable housing runs up to and from the top tube??.
These cables are on an Orbea road frame, so the are externally routed along the top tube to the back brake(cable housing up to top tube, then bare cable along top tube, then more cable housing down to the back brake.
Thank you so much.

If memory serves me correctly, you should have two black plastic caps for each cable housing, one for each end. The black caps go on the ends of the cable housings and fit into the ferrules on the bike frame (for the rear brake) and the ferrules on the brake calipers (on both brakes). If you are short black caps, recycle the ones on your old brake cable housings.
The two plastic end caps sound to me like they go on the STI levers where the cable housing (black or grey) connect to the hole on the STI levers where the cable goes in…i.e. when you attach the cable housing to the STI levers…then it’s all covered up with handlebar tape…
I have my Orbea Orca in fron tof me here and as it’s all taped up i think that’s what you mean…
