Installing Brake Levers - Problem!

Hello all!

I bought a Profile Design Carbon Cobra base bar for my Tri bike. Hell of a nice bar, but I’m having a problem installing my SRAM TT900 Brake Levers.
When I try to push the levers in, they will not go all the way in. It’s quite bothersome because I’m nervous about handling the new bars and levers. xD
Has anyone else have the same problem, or is it something I’m just running into?

For my cut-off basebar…
If they are unscrewed all the way they are too long.
Make sure they are almost tight before slipping them inside.

I don’t think cutting my bar would fix it because I’d have to cut it by an inch or so!
It seems like the section of the level that you install in the bar are too wide. When I attempt to get them in, they leave about about 1.5 centimeters or the lever section.
Do you think sanding the inside of the bar will make it easier to install? It seems like there is some bumps and thicker section of the bar feeling from the inside.

I would hope that you have checked inside the bar for any burrs. Be very careful sanding carbon, since you can cut through the epoxy finish that keeps the weave together.

If I stick my finger inside the bar, it feels as if the epoxy i not smooth. I’m thinking this is stopping me from installing my levers fully.
Should I contact Profile Design about it?

Yes, you should ask them. They have always been very helpful.
