i’ve just had 2 days off and need some inspiration. inspire me. please. hopefully with this rest my tempo run tonite will be fast :smiley:

The age group winner is training today.

Two days off probably does more good for you than bad…When i take a couple days off my muscles feel rejuvinated and my head refreshed and focused! How many times do you just slog through the workout b/c you have to or should… Rest is what makes the human body adaptable…

A few summers ago I was sitting at my desk dreading the afternoon run because it was 90 degrees and humid out. Then I got an email about a former teammate of mine in college (swimming) who had jumped into shallow water and shattered his leg. This is a guy who at NCAA nationals (or was it new englands… I can’t remember) set the record for the 500, 1000, and 1650 - all in the same race. A real inspirational competitor. Anyway, he attacked his recovery and therapy with a vengeance and is really doing well. I just ran into him at Eagleman a few weeks ago where he took 7th amateur overall. This is a guy whose doctors said he wouldn’t walk again.

Anyway, so I felt like I had no excuse to sit on my a$$ because it was a little to hot when inspired by what Marc went through. Fulla - this probably doesn’t have the personal inspiration that it did for me, but it is a great reminder that it is such a gift to be able to do what we can do (run, bike, swim) that we should revel in them when we can.

Have a good run tonight - drop the f.ckin’ hammer and kick some a$$

Or perhaps you should take a day off and have a cold beer and go to bed early.

In the Southern Hemisphere the days are now, finally, starting to get longer. Summer is only around a few corners.

go and binge on cheesburgers or pizza or beer or whatever. be a sloth.

when insiration lacks, use fear and loathing.

You live in the most beautiful piece of terra firma in the world. You could live in a shithole like me. Get out there and enjoy it!!

YOu know that guy who kicked your butt in that race that you did and you were really mad about it and your swore that you would train harder on your running. He’s did his tempo workout last night really fast…

did the run but missed swimming this morning. hah
