Hey Infinit users - does your scoop size dramatically change from batch to batch. I ordered the same formula as usual, and my scoop size went from 73cc to 94cc. That’s a huge jump in scoop size! I e-mailed Infinit, but they were closed. I figured I would ask on here to see if others found this too. Thanks! (BTW…this is not a flame post or anything. I love the stuff. Just curious about the scoops.)
I’ve noticed the variation in scoop sizes, but then I’ve been tinkering with the sliders each batch so it would make sense that the amount of per serving might change some. I think the ratios are the key, since I’ll mix it up at different concentrations anyway depending on the length of time needed and cut with water along the way.
I noticed that my recovery formula scoop changed size, or at least shape. They were close enough that I continue to use the old scoop because it had a smaller diameter that made it easier to fill my bottles.
I’ve noticed the same thing and wasn’t sure which one to use. I finally took both scoops and filled them with the powder and weighed them. I think each scoop should weigh 78 grams. It turns out the smaller scoop was the correct one. I think you can use the larger one, but only fill it up to a line on the scoop that is about 2/3 of the way up from the bottom (and below the handle).
Yeah. I think I’m going to get a kitchen scale and weigh the scoops. According to the bag, I’m supposed to get 72 grams per serving. It will be interesting to see if the 73cc or the 94cc scoop is more accurate!
A followup to my earlier message. Actually, a serving for me is 2 scoops which is equal to about 72 grams. The smaller (yellow, in my case) is 35 grams. So, I guess it is safe to assume the smaller scoop is the correct one, at least in my case.
i sent them an inquiry on this earlier in the year, the reason I got back was that the bulk source materials they get (maltodextrin, etc) can vary in density from batch to batch which can effect serving size so they adjust it with scoop size so that it is always the same number of scoops for the customer so there is a method to it. I have just been using whichever scoops they provide with my order based on this and it has been working fine, love this stuff!!!
Awesome! Thanks for the info!
So, the plot thickens. I just received my latest order of Infinit and the scoop is 80cc and my serving size is two scoops (72.3 g). There is a line half way up the scoop at the handle. I am now even more confused than ever. You think I should go with the line as “1 scoop”? I don’t have a kitchen scale.
Good question. That fine line below the top of the scoop is confusing. I was hoping that Michael of Infinit would jump into this discussion to clarify. I have the same problem as another poster: I have two scoops of different capacities. One came with the standard IM mix and other with the Mark Allen IM mix. I did not pay attention to which scoop came in which mix. As pricey as that stuff is I do not want to use any more than I have to.
If you look closely, the scoop capacity should be molded on it somewhere (all the different ones I’ve gotten are), and you can look up the serving size in g’s on the pakcage label for each mix. Shouldn’t be too hard to figure out which goes with which.
I’m not an Infinit user, but I’ve noticed the same thing with all of my Hammer products as well.
I asked my question of Infinit and they simply said use two full scoops of the scoop that came with the blend. I’m guessing that perhaps the varying scoop sizes is intentional based upon the blend but that would require a lot of attention from the packager and I don’t know if the package all this by hand. Anyway, that’s the answser from the horses mouth.
