Inexpensive is relative, but I like Continental Ultra Gatorskin tires a lot for training. A little heavy, but are bomb proof. I’d rather ride heavy and race light and not having to really worry about flats is definitely nice!
Probably around $30ish a tire.
www.chucksbikes.com has/had Michelen(sp?) Axial Pro’s (green) in 650 for something like 14.95 or so.

Kenda Concept tires are cheap, like 19.99. They also are horrible. I’m 145lbs and ruined some on my training bike in like 500 miles. Also, they skid badly on a wet surface. If you go to worldclasscycles.com, I think thats the website, their prices are very reasonable and you can choose from just about all brands. On my training bike I have a set of these Continental Ultra gatorskins. They probably weigh a ton but I have not been able to wear them out or flat one. They have some kind of composite on them. They are also good in the rain. If you are looking for trainers, just don’t buy any lightweight tires as they don’t hold up long. I also like Michelin Pro Race, I have one on my Renn Disc. Fast and tough.
Eric,
I second ebay. I just bought two 650 Michelin Ironman pro race for 58.00 plus shipping. Just be patient the deals will come.
