Indoor pool location in Southern CT?

Does anyone know of a decent indoor pool or health club with a lap pool near Bridgeport, New Haven, milford, Stamford or Fairfield?
I work in Bridgeport and am looking for a place to live in the other towns.
thanks

I used to live in Bpt and the Jewish and Italian community centers up on Park Ave had indoor pools IIRC. JCC had a pretty good weight room too.

that website has provided me with a couple good ones…
I live in Fairfield, work in New Haven- swim in Milford on the way to work at a pool thats 25$ for 12 visits. Hours arent the best- and it gets crowded since nobody knows how to circle swim- and no speed divisions are enforced… but it works
i’ve also swam at a place in Orange (located from that site) that was very nice facilities- but its like 5$/visit if you’re not a resident of the town.
Other than that- theres Fitness4000 which is like 50/month for all their facilities… You can join any of a number of YMCA’s… but yea- look at that site- make some phone calls, and make the decision after swimming at all the places

Wilton Family YMCA
Address: 404 Danbury Rd. , Wilton , CT

Really nice indoor/outdoor 50m pool.

Wilton Y. Also, if you’re in Stamford, just drive down to Greenwich and join the YMCA. <2 year old state of the art 50 meter pool

x2 on greenwich
.

Thanks for the locations. I havent found a place or settled on a particular area, so Im living with a friend in Manhattan and commuting, which takes way too long.
Since this state is no NYC, nightlife combined with a nearby pool to train in will play a factor in my decision.
Thanks again

Italian center in Stamford.

  • whatever for the Wilton Y. With any Y check the pool schedule ahead of time. I go to the Wilton Y and at 6AM Swim Team comes in and uses 3 out of the 6 lanes and everyone gets shuffled into the remaining 3 lanes. That really wouldnt be bad if everyone else in those last 3 lanes had the same workout or pace even…but that doesn’t typically workout that way…

cheers

I lived there about 4 years and I’m sorry to say it is too cold to swim in connecticut, even indoors. Also too cold to ride a bike. I suggest jogging as a hobby

Like others have said, the JCC on Park ave in BPT- also, BPT university has a pool you can join on the cheap. There are a whole bunch in Norwalk and stamford. I’d stay away from the Y’s in CT- i found them to be really expensive to join for just the pool and there were always rules- couldn’t ever get lanes to myself which made doing sprints really hard. After I moved from Fairfield down to Stamford I joined LA fitness- (they have a membership option that lets you use any of the gyms) it was awesome. One stop tri training… lol- pleanty of yoga & spinning classes with good instructures plus the 25y pool that always had open lanes, no rules (no life guard either!) and a couple of good swimmers who were fun to train with.

I miss that gym. it was fun being one of “those idiots” there all the time.
