I’ve never really suffered from indigestion before but Dr. Internet has me self diagnosing with it. This morning I went to start my long run but stopped 1 mile in because the pain on the left side just below my rib cage was so severe and uncomfortable. Almost felt bruised. Last night I felt nauseas, I’ve been trying to eat more meat for protein and my stomach isn’t loving it and I’ve been drinking up to 80oz a day of carbonated water. Those three items pointed me in the direction of my diagnosis. Pain really isn’t too bad just sitting around or walking, although I do sometimes feel a bit feverish and head-achy. But when I run it’s almost like it limits my ability to breath in. I rested for two hours and snuck a shorter run in and the pain was tolerable but not something I want to deal with for a long run and when trying to hit paces. Anyone else ever felt like this? Is this likely indigestion and easy to fix with antacids (which I am on my way to purchase)?
From what you have said, yes indegestion. You went from a light meat diet to a heavy one, that is hard on the body. Also drink more flat water. The bubbly stuff is great but not as hydrating due to the carbonation. I would go back to eating less meat and suplimenting with more plant based proteins. Your body seems to like it that way, mine is the same way. Are an A+ blood type by chance?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the whole “eat your blood type” thing isn’t really backed up with much science…
coming from someone who quit vege/vegan after 4 years
I am A+. How does that play in?
no but blood type seems to correlate with how the body handles things. Nutrition is like a mad science, shit changing everywhere. I ask because I am A+ and I react similarly when I eat more meat, espically red meat. You body seems to like limited red meat, just my observation. I have gone veg for a while but I love bacon too much, and vegan, dude butter, good cheese. My culinary blood wont let me.
