I took my road bike out this past weekend instead of the tribike. I dont know why other than it was there taking up space, so i thought it should be used. Anyway, I forgot how much i enjoyed it.

I met some roadies. Friendly guys. But they had weird gold cranks that spun independently of each other. I didn’t ask questions, but I was/am really curious as to what these were. Ever heard of them? Is there a benefit to this type of crank? Is it even a crank or is it a special type of BB? I did a google search, but could not come with anything. The normal tri-related websites I looked at didn’t seem to carry them either.
