i was not able to see the forest for the trees, and thought he was just being crabby. i didn’t identify the problem until after the cat fight broke out. at that point i had to shake it off, and refocus on the main reasons for the gathering at slowtwitch… for which tom d. is a huge value add.
he has proven himself as not only a triathlon juggernaught, but a real pillar of the slowtwitch community.
thanks tom.
oh… and kudos to you Steve C., for putting things in perspective.
Thanks dude. A lot of people go into to making this forum good, and it extends far beyond a 600X800 screen. I’ve met fellow slowtwitchers on four continents in the past 5 months.
Yesterday a poster metioned that my estimates of oil production from the ANWR (Alaska National Wildlife Reserve) compared to Iraq were wrong. That cuased me to re-investigate my information.
That is the value of this forum. When you commit information to this forum and hit “Enter” it is subject to the review of all slowtwitchers- people like Francois who is a scientist and taku who is a medical professional, Slowman who invented the triathlon bike and wetsuit and John Cobb who positioned Lance Armstrong and Mr. Tibbs who is a highly motivated thinker and passionate writer and commentator.
This is a powerful tribunal. And I value that greatly as evidenced by the frequency of my contributions.
So, I certainly thank you for your kind words and appreciate it very much.
One more reason why you should get your e-store on. You got all these people(myself included) who want to buy stuff from you based on your knowledge and wisdom, and how helpful you are, and they can’t. So instead we just have to stroke your ego from afar, instead of sending money to you across the ether. How many Arione’s could you have sold this year? How many Dual’s?
It’s your CS degree that’s killing you, isn’t it? You understand the tech enough to get all caught up in the implementation details, don’t you? Am I warm?
I think you should incorporate yourself, Martha-style. Tom Demerly Active Living. You could have a TV show, and a magazine! It’s a good MF thing!
(cut to the show) Welcome back to Tom Demerly Active Living. Today’s racing tip: If you sustain a compound fracture during a race, and haven’t had a flat, you can simply push the bones back inside the flesh and wrap the wound with your spare tubular. Use your aerobars as a splint if you have to. Make sure you get it good and tight. If you ride clinchers, you’re going to bleed out, fool!
I’m telling you, this could work!
BTW, Tibbs, I love that line, and I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s from. It’s lingering in the back of my brain. Argh!
Doh! Thanks. I should have known that. I was just talking about ROUS’s the other day. My wife didn’t believe they existed until she saw one in the backyard(who knew there were fishers/martens in Massachusetts?)
