In the pursuid of speed - Felt B12 front end update

This is my fiance’s bike, and also the only UCI legal TT bike I own. It’s not often that I have to do a TT under UCI rules, but when I have the opportunity (and she isn’t racing also), I don’t mind. Her front end height and position is almost identical to what I need, the only difference is saddle height (so I bought an extra post), and extension length (which takes about 2 mins to change).

Previously it was running a Blackwell base bar and Pro Windjammer extensions, but those extensions presented some issues with mounting a between the bars bottle on the front. Everything i tried ended up too sloppy or otherwise unacceptable. I’ve been wanting to try the Lightning Stryke bars for awhile, as I came up with the stem mounted, single tube design in my early teens (made originally out of PVC pipe), and have always been enamored with the idea.

First - the Lightning Stryke bars are great. The hand position is perfect, and the non-rotatable angle turns out to be spot on. Thanks PD!
Second - Huzzah! I finally found a fork that mates up nicely with the Zipp brake. The Reynolds forks are a bit narrow, but this one is just the right width.
Third - Check out that cable hanger.
Fourth - Holy crap, the Garmin 500 is A TON smaller than the 705. That really blew me away.

I am still working on a bottle cage for the front. Currently it’s looking like something custom, as none of the options I’ve tried so far are doing much for it…

That cable hanger is great! Did you have to drill the holes in the top tube for the cables, or is that standard on the B12?

That is standard, and VERY nice. Dead simple to cable that bike.
