In search of lightweight/waterproof running jacket

Any recommendations on a lightweight/waterproof(resistant) running jacket? I was out yesterday for a 11-12mi run and it was pouring and I got soaked to the bone in my old running jacket about 25min into the run.

I’ve been eyeing some of the GoLite stuff, but am open to any and all recommendations (especially cost-conscious choices).

Thanks

I wish I could give you a firsthand review, but I’m getting it for Christmas. My gore-tex just wasn’t holding up in heavy rain anymore, and after shopping around and reading a bunch of different forum threads about what jackets really are waterproof, I decided on this brand. It’s very inexpensive too.

I second the REI Preclip. At that price you cannot go wrong. Awesome jacket. I use it for my runs and hiking all the time.

If you are looking for something completely waterproof, check out a brand called Boathouse. I rowed in college, and they make jackets designed for that. They are light, comfortable, breathable, warm, and keep you completely dry. I love running in mine when its raining hard.

…not sure on prices though…my school gave me mine (team jacket)
