Anybody know the condition of the IMWI bike course? After the big storms last night, any flooding, trees down, etc?
I was considering riding part of the course tomorrow morning/early afternoon.
Thanks.

I heard from my Tri Coach that he would be careful with flats as it appears the rain has washed some small pebbles on the road and is concerned they may cause many flats. Carry more than the usual spare tubes, etc.
I was considering a ride with my full race kit – tubulars/606’s. Maybe not with these conditions…
We still have two weeks, relax. I rode the course a couple times in the rain/hail (although I never actually saw the hail, I just froze in the pouring rain) last weekend, and although it was very “gravelly” in some places, for the most part it was decent riding conditions. This being my first year there, I’m not sure if the road has always been like this, but as you make a right hand turn (I think onto Boulder Rd) after you pass the quarry, it’s packed sandy/gravel and I’m not sure if it’s always been like that.
My report as of last Sunday when I rode the course
**IMOO** course Update **Edit | Delete | Quote | Reply ** Rode the whole ball of wax yesterday through the flash flooding and T-storms.
Sugar River RD is under water at the bottom of the hill - They have signs up saying high water. We had to ride through 8 inches of water. Most likely will not be an issue after a few days.
Tons of gravel on pretty much all roads due to large amounts of rain. Driveways have been washed out into the roads. A big gravel spot on Shady Oak at the bottom of a hill so be careful if you’re bombing down that hill. You can split the gravel if you see the opening in time.
Birch/Timberlane pea gravel is no longer an issue…smooth sailing
Big Potholes heading back into Madison on Macoy and Oregon so be carefull. I see a lot of flats through this section.
I rode the verona loop, yesterday and there was no problems. Roads seem clear to me. There was a couple spots of loose gravel but you can spot them in time to get around safely. I was ridding in the rain so I was riding brakes on some of the bigger down hill sections. I can see that if it is raining on race day people might want to take extra precaution on some of the down hills because of the curves plus those roads were all seal coated within the last few years and they just look slippery . I just h ope that the race course is marked better by race day. I spent more time reading my directions and looking for all the turns then actully riding time.
