Anyone know the status of this IM race?? Is it going to happen??

Here’s the proposal site, doesn’t look like it’s been updated since last year (not a good sign)
My unsubstantiated info is that IMNA was originally considering it as a Full IM site, which fell through when IMF re-upped. Then I believe IMNA or WTC considered including it in the 70.3 series. I think all has fallen through though and the only possibility now is that it will be an independent Half IM distance race. It’s a shame because it is a phenomenal location (I’m biased being from VA) and IMHO would put locations like Blackwater and Disney to shame.
