just curious from those doing IM Wisconsin, what is your biggest Bike/Run brick so far and how long will your longest be?
5 hour ride followed by 1 hour run (2 weeks ago). Will probably end up at 6-hour ride with 2-hour run maximum.
4/1

Don’t be fooled Madisonman…most go too long, too hard, too close ![]()
.
112 miles/4 mile run.
112 miles/4 mile run.
How did those 4 miles feel?
Coupla OD races have served as my bigget bricks. Gonna work up to 15 - 30 minute runs following bike rides of up to 5 hrs.
In 1985 I took 3 months off to train for the IM-H and moved to Kona. We had a century bike ride in early Sept, so I thought about doing that and making a brick out of it. So…Did the century (majority of the Kona course), then from downtown Kona to the airport and back running (I figure about 18-20 miles EASY). Stashed bottles along the way and carried one with me. Not the smartest thing, but had no negative effects afterwards and a big confidence builder.

Actually, legs felt fine (considering). Didn’t get the nutrition plan down and stomache was hurting. I have long rides next 3-4 weekends to get nutrition dialed in and one more 112/4 brick at the beginning of August.
112 bike, 30 minute recovery transition, then a 6 mile run at the end of June. I had some nutrition problems on the bike which I’m hoping to workout this weekend when I do the same brick again, sans the long transition.
HHH 200k (6:50 (aerobic pace)) then quick change and 1 hr run.
