Made reservations about a week ago. I was surprised to find something within walking distance (a must for the family- this is supposed to test my endurance, not theirs…). Made me wonder- is it a decent place? You’d think the closest places would fill 1st. Still hoping for a Hilton cancellation, but thats a long shot.
Thoughts on the place?
it’s a classic art decco hotel right on the other lake in Madison - it’s walkable to the main transition area - but not close. It’s not the marriott - but I thought it was still better than the Inn on the Park. bottom line - being here will be just a bit more quiet than over by the capital.
Nothing wrong with the Edgewater. Nice place, excellent location. I doubt you will be disappointed. It’s walking distance to state street, the Memorial Union (where you HAVE to go for ice cream), and a nice beach by Lake Mendota. I’m also surprised it wasn’t sold out yet.
