Can anyone recommend a good place to get some basic pasta’s, decent portions in the village. Also for Sunday night can anyone recommend a nice place for dinner? Staying at the Hilton in the ped village.
Near the bottom of the town/ finish line is an Italian chain restaurant. Pasta factory I think. Ate there during my stay and it was alright. Good size portions, nothing fancy, lots of space.
There are a few other restaurants with good pasta, lots of places to eat in the village. I didn’t try any I wouldn’t go back to.
Cool, thanks. For Sunday (staying until Monday) any nice places with water views, good food. Looking for a nice place to take the family to enjoy our last night, post race dinner.
I have only been to the resort the one time, and that was back in 2012. My family stayed Wed-Wed for the IM. We also stayed at the Hilton at the very top of the hill. There are lots of places to eat in the village. We would just wander out of the hotel and pick one on a whim.
The village isn’t laid out to overlook the water. There is some sort of club building near the swim start but we never explored that area.
You could picnic at the top of the mountain if the weather is good. Excellent view from the top.
You can also pick up groceries in the town about 5 min from the resort village. There you can get a wider selection at uninflated prices. There is also a small corner store with some basics near the bottom of the village.
The Hilton also puts on breakfast every day with a rotating selection. It was very decent.
I’ve eaten at most of the places in the village, all are relatively good and all are very pricey. Two of the best in my opinion are the Bullseye Saloon (I think its still open?) at the base of the mountain gondola (not the pedestrian gondola). It was tasty, massive steaks. There is also a great little crepe place, Creperie Catherine down the hill in the center of the courtyard where the bars and “clubs” are, only open for breakfast and lunch though. Never been off the village to eat, not sure what’s out there, I’d use Yelp. Good luck next Sunday. Poutine would be a sufficient alt. for pasta if you want to load the carbs.
