Does the WTC open the swim course for practice swims on Thursday or Friday leading up to the race?
Also, I think I can get some open water swim practice in my backyard right now. Stupid Hurricane Irene!

You could swim there last year, but it wasn’t an “official” event, and the buouys weren’t up.

In the past, the practice swims at WTC events were all sponsored by Gatorade (and staffed by Gatorade people). When their sponsorship with WTC ended, so did many of the practice swims. At IMTX in May though, PowerBar sponsored a practice swim the day before so *maybe *it’ll be back at IMWI this year. Tough to say until the athlete guide comes out.
