Any one know where the last bottle drop is before the long climb back into town?

Looking to shed some wieght and drop any unecessary bottles. Thanks

Anything particularly special planned for those saved 5 seconds?

A typical bottle weighs 2 to 3 ounces. The fluid that you just consumed from that same bottle weighs roughly 21 to 22 ounces. Even if you ditch the bottles, you’re still carrying 90% of the weight. Solution … relieve yourself into the bottle before dropping it off.

It is really not a really climb per-se…just more of a slow slog. There is also an aid station on the flat section after the notch just past high falls gorge.

I did this last year. Dropped two water bottles, one full, the other half full. With the rain pouring down I knew I wasn’t going to be thirsty. Anyway, maybe it’s only perception, but it seemed to make a difference. I remember booting by a few people on the climb - and I’m no climber by any stretch of the imagination. Make sure your aero bottle is full.

Thanks, appreciate the insight.

I road the course a month ago, 2 loops, and I definitely felt a difference climbing with empty waterbottles behind my saddle my second loop. If it isn’t too hot, I think I could make it back to town on my aero-bottle.

I’m not much of a climber, so its not about the 2 seconds, its about the effort. I just want to make it up there as easy as possible.

See you guys out on the course.
