IMLP Community Fund Slots (2)

I’m just amazed on just how quickly the link to the Community Fund slot sfor IMLP came down.

I wonder just how many slots were available? I know they ussually have 150 slots per race but it seems as though the link came down before they could have actually recieved 150 applications in the mail. I think they probably took it down after so many downloads occurred limiting the number of applications and checks actually recieved, thus lowering the amount of returned checks needing processing.

Have we gotten to the point that people are purchasing a Community Fund slot with the intentions of rolling it over into the next year.

i.e. I have my general entry slot for IMLP '08, I could go ahead and signup for IMAZ’08 with a community fund slot. 45 day’s before IMAZ’08 I could write to NAS and announce my intentions to rollover IMAZ CF slot to IMLP’09 CF slot as long as 150 other people haven’t already done this.

It’s just a guess, but I imagine those 150 checks were written and in an envelope well before the link to download the app was available.

Price isn’t an obstable for folks wanting to call themself an Ironman.

They said that they continued to accept applications long after the link came down.
