who has done both? what seems better? the dorms are in sranac, KOA in wilmington…
camping at koa for sure!!! a lot of fun and a very nice location…and if oyu are lucky…you may have some bears hanging out with you!!!

Marisol, if you are looking to “house a group” the Jackrabbit Inn on 73, just 5 min out of LP still has its hostel section for rent. There are 22 bunks in 4 rooms with kitchen and living room facilities. I ususually go there when on training weekends for tri and XC skiing with friends. You can call the owner at 518-523-0123. He is renting out the place for $2700 for 5 nites, so that works out to a bit more than $100 per person. Ideally though, you would only have ~ 16 people over the 4 rooms so it is not too tight so that would be $170 per person.

I have a sofa bed left in downtown Lake Placid.
We’ve rented a 2 bedroom house with kitchen, dining room, and one bathroom from July 19 to July 26. My wife and daughter will probably only be there 3 or 4 of the days as they are going to visit Montreal.

Nothing like indoor plumbing and a short walk to and FROM the starting line.

Thanks for the offer but it’s not just me:-) i am also short on money so the camping or dorms sound good… just wanted to know which was better! camping sounds more fun.
