IMFlorida

Anyone know when the info packets will be available for download for IM Florida?

Haven’t seen 'em yet…probably in the next couple weeks I would imagine.

Yeah, I’m also interested in finding out the stuff they are going to have for athletes along the way (in the form of liquids/gels/whatever). During the Rock and Rollman here in Macon, GA (HIM), they had some odd(to me) sports drink I had never used. The taste was alright… but, as they say you shouldn’t try anything new during your race.

I would like to train with the stuff I’m going to be given during the race.

Did a quick 75 mile bike and 30min run yesterday. Felt good and easy. I’ve got a whole month of 80, 100, 100, 115 bike rides coming up! I’m pumped.

See ya’ll @IMFL.

I’m afraid of not training with what they are going to have available. I thought they were going to use Gu on the course but it looks like they are going to use Powergel.

You do not have to wait for the race packet. The list of what will be at the aid stations is online now:

http://www.ironmanflorida.com/info.html **Where will the aid stations be and what will be available? **Aid stations are approximately a mile apart on the run and every 10 miles on the bike. Nutrition available can vary between years and races, depending upon who the sponsors are. The general offerings are as follows:

Bike Aid Station
Gatorade Endurance Formula
Water
Mixed Gu
PowerBar
Bananas
Oranges

Run Aid Stations
Gatorade Endurance Formula
Water
Cola
Mixed Flavors of GU
Pretzels
Chicken Soup Broth (Fulls only)
Oranges
Bananas
PowerBar
Fig Newtons

You mention that the Rock and Rollman Half had a weird sports drink. You don’t have to worry about that at IMF, Gatorade Endurance will be available on the course and it is available at your local grocery store.

They had cytomax at the rock 'n roll man–Love that stuff
.

Don’t gradually grow your bike distance. Just start slamming your body with the Centuries+ NOW. That will give some time for the “training effect” to happen. Honest.
