Sorry for the delay, but here are a couple of group shots from the IMFL Slowtwitch get-together.

I’m afraid that I cannot name everyone in the photos, so I will let everyone point themselves out. It was nice to meet you all!
And a quick note to describe my day…
Out of 2192 people who lined up on the beach, I managed to finish the swim in position 2165 (time 2:02:08), please note that 2109 people finished the race, so I had to pass 54 people to get to ‘virtual’ last place!
I really did not struggle too much, I was on course for most of the swim just a little far outside in the first loop. I was able to site the buoys pretty well, and it may be hard to believe but I was not breaststroking, or floating on my back… I was performing my sloth like version of the the freestyle stroke (thanks Total Immersion!)
I came out of the swim deliriously happy, I almost ran past the suit strippers, but paused to get some assistance. The T1 tent had more volunteers than participants so I had plenty of help. I took 10:28 minutes in T1 just because it was quiet enough to meditate.
The ride was almost one long line of cyclist (not really drafting, just a lot of riders), I was in one continuous pass for ~ four hours. Then it was intermittent passing. (bike 5:56:32)
Run was uneventful, tough, but I have felt worse in marathons. (run 4:01:01)
Finished 905 overall (total 12:18:26) so I passed 1260 people after the swim. I’m still trying to figure out how to determine if I can claim the title as ‘most improved’.
How is that for a short race report.
Mark
