IMFL day 3 report, the bike count (Friday)

Early today I participated in the Gatorade swim and ran into Halfspeed, Paul and a few other slowtwitchers. Andreij Yasterbov said hello later and told me that he would indeed race despite his ongoing limp. Wow.
During the day Zinc, Josh and QuintanaRooster stopped by as they were on their way to check in their bikes and they all seemed to be in great spirit.
At 5pm i had arranged to meet Miami79 at the Timex booth to get into the “pound” with the help of Tom Ziebart. Just before that time she shows up with a “bored” professional triathlete who wants to help us count bikes. I of course won’t name that french pro athlete residing in El Paso. After assuring me that he is fine to go and asist us we start the count.
Basically here is what we did. We picked the top 30 brands from Kona and counted how many bikes of these brands were represented here at IMFL.
Here are the totals in order of totals at IMFL:

Cervelo 257
Trek 217
Quintana Roo 180
Cannondale 161
Litespeed 128
Kestrel 125
Felt 82
Giant 79
Specialized 79
Softride 75
Guru 71
Kuota 44
Aegis 32
Elite 28
Serotta 25
Look 16
Scott 15
Seven 15
Principia 14
Colnago 13
Orbea 13
Javelin 12
Cube 10
Bianchi 10
Canyon 9
Calfee 9
Klein 9
Merlin 8
Argon 18 5
Ceepo 1

Notes: We only counted bikes which had at least 2 digits in the Kona count. There were several bikes (15 or so) which were covered totally so we could not count them as we would not touch any bike. We think there were at least 15 Griffin bikes there but since they were lower in Kona we did not count them, but we noticed the numbers.

Cheers,
Herbert

Litespeed / Quintana Roo

you forgot

Circus bike - 1
.

Look - 16 Argon 18 - 5

So there are 16 Frenchies and 5 Danish on the race…

That’s an impressive number of Serotta I would say…

Principia is Danish.

But I know at least two guys in Portugal that ride one so not all of Principia’s bikes are Danish guys
.

Will you have someone at T2 to count running shoes as they come out of the gate?
