IMC'ers: can we start panicking about the weather forecast? :-)

Weather.com = 89F on Sunday
Weather.MSN = 93F
.

Looks like low to mid 30’s celsius, isn’t that all we can hope for? No rain, no 40+ degrees, should be OK.

Mid / low 30’s is normal. Last 2 years has been colder which was not normal!

The temp is the temp…same for everyone!

That’s about picture perfect weather, and what I was hoping for since 80% of my training has been in 100+ temps. I’m stoked!

looks good to me!

I prefer the outlook on Weather underground: 86 and sunny.

mondays weather post race calls for thunder storms :(, better pack the rain gear just in case.

I’d rather have
Sunday 30°C 14°C

over
Friday 31°C 4°C - 39°F

4°C or 39°F is a little chilly at 5AM. Just a little note about BC weather…the forecasts have been a touch higher than the real temperatures since our heat wave. Just an observation.

PS - Environment Canada website generally the most accurate.

I’m not excited about the prospects of a hot race. Unlike those who live in warmer climates, us Calgarians are SELDOM able to train in temps over 80 degrees. Its not an unexpected forecast for race day, but I was crossing my fingers for an overcast/rainy day. I understand its been a pretty cool summer for most everyone, actually. Haven’t had to pop an electrolyte pill all summer.

Ha…I’m in Spruce Grove (just west of Edmonton). I’ve been layering up this last month just to train with a higher core temp (ie. arm warmers + jacket). Likely doesn’t do anything for me but it at least makes me think I’m “temperature specific” training.

Ha…spoken like a typical triathlete.

Could be worse – at least its a dry heat! Saves us the trouble of acclimatizing to high humidity at the same time.

I do wonder whether layering up is worth the hassle. Sounds to me like a quick way to double the laundry, but if it helps I think it would be worth the trouble… at least for bike training. Somehow jogging in winter gear seems far to wacky. The neighbors might think I’ve gone loony.

Well I DID just move from Toronto 3 months ago where training in smog was the norm.

As for the hassle, if I put on a good face, the wife will take care of the laundry. But then again, maybe that’s why she told me I was an idiot for wearing 3 shirts and a long sleeve for my run this past Sunday.

Don’t worry, there is lots of shade on the run course :wink:
.

could it be possible that temp IMC > temp IMKY ???

i wont be complaining about anything under 85 deg.

Louisville Sunday Forecast

Gotta say I feel for you folks.

I train in 30-38C year round with high humidity…South East Asia.

I am not looking forward o a cold swim though…brrrrrrrr !

This will be hecoldest race I have done since Kona 05 !

Good luck to you all and hope to meet up prior to the race.

Cheers,

Terry
