IMCDA rollcall

Well I’m headed out for CDA on Saturday morning flying out of Nashville to Spokane. I’ll be staying with my sister who lives just off the run course. So who all is going to IMCDA? And who all is really dreading the swim?

I’m heading for Portland next Wednesday then will drive to CDA with family and a friend. I’m so excited! I’ve heard lots of stories about it being a rough swim but I’m not worried yet! Good luck!

We’re leaving on Saturday too for the annual family two-week vacation road trip; up to Portland, then Seattle, then CdA (do a little race) then back home via Bend. We’ll be staying with friends and family on the way and back. Looking forward to seeing some of this great country of ours.

Looks like a cold swim huh? Well, bring it on, I say. Can’t be much colder than SF Bay and I’m sure it tastes better. Might be good for my knee too.

Anyone else planning on flying the ST colors during the race? Look for me to be resplendent in my Cervelo/ST LCS with Tom’s words of wisdom to ponder for all who pass (or are passed by me). In addition, I’ll be wearing my Transition Sports running cap to show my local affiliation. Stop me and introduce yourself (OK, don’t stop me during the race; just ease on up as you pass by).

The only other STer from round here I know is going is TriMike from up Sonoma way.

BTW, we’re in the Post Falls Red Lion. Anyone else there?

I will be there. Flying in on Tuesday.

Personally - I think the cold swim will be great - better than too warm foresure. Plus, not much we can do to change it so no use wasting energy worrying about it.

The weather has been looking pretty shitty lately too. It will be interesting to see what the next week brings, but the weather network shows rain / possible t-storms every day into the horizon.

Fly in semi-late: Thursday into Spokane and drive into CDA Friday.

I’m packing every conceivable piece of clothing…I can’t get a handle on the weather.

Can you say neoprene cap?

I’m flying in on Tuesday. Staying @ Red Lion Templins on the River…is that the same as the Post Falls Red Lion, or are there 2 Red Lions?

weather.com 10 day report actually looks like they expect it to get nicer towards the end of next week. 10 day forecasts are not always the most accurate, but here’s hoping their outlook holds up. Personally, I’ll take a cold swim and a 78 degree run over a 69 degree swim with a 93 degree run!! Anyone else with me on this??

I’m #1824. Looking forward to some cooler temps hopefully, as it’s already over 100 in Austin. I get in Tuesday. Look for my Slowtwitch hat and Texas Iron apparel. There are more than 30 people from the Austin area racing.

I fly in on Tuesday with my family - we rented a house next to Tubbs hill on the run bike/run course. We start the Gatorade morning swim on Thursday - 7:00 AM at the swim start! Be sure to come by and check your stuff into the corral. We will have ice cold Gatorade Endurence for you to sample. We will also be handing out the new Gatorade Endurence in Edge bottles - the same bottle you will be getting on the course. Lemon Lime on the Bike - Orange on the Run!

I will also be helping out Mike Rielly on the annoucning stand for the race! See you all in CDA. Z

I’m also staying across from Tubbs Hill Park just off the run course. We got a great 5 bedroom house. Driving up from So Cal and arriving on Wednesday.

No, that’s the hotel-Templins Red Lion. I liked the idea of being able to get away from the IM scene a little and the description said it had a beach on the river. My girls will appreciate that I think.

See you there.

I will be flying into Spokane Thursday with a pretty full contingent of Tri-Dogs from Sonoma County. Let’s pray the cool weather holds… Can any locals comment on changes to bike and swim course?

Mike

I’m the chick riding the Merlin with the pink hair and I’m not scared of cold, choppy or wet water.

Flying out from Chicago on wednesday and rented a house along the run course. Likely wearing the peaceful tribe uniform and riding my lovely new P2SL. Look the for the largest man in the field and be kind when passing. #1057

It’s also likely that I may be spending much of my free time at the skateboard park with the kids because that’s why they’re coming to the race.

The water sounds a bit nippy.

Driving :30 to the swim on Thurs. morning from my house. Yes, the weather around here has been changing by the day. Next week they are calling for 80 on Tues., so who knows where we’ll end up. It’s supposed to rain all on and off this weekend.

The bike hasn’t changed, however I’ve heard they might widen the swim.

Good luck and safe travels to all!

Heading out tomorrow (Friday) for a stop in Yakima, WA, then on to CDA on Tuesday. SO (also racing) and I staying in a house just across the street from the park where the Expo/Transition area is located. 3rd year in the same place. Our friends staying there are mostly coming in on Tuesday as well. See you all there… if you wait late enough into the night to greet me at the finish. ;^)

Ahh. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this thread! A true sign that the race is near! I too have been watching the 10 day forecast which now goes up to the day before. If it stays at mid 70’s, 0% chance of rain, it will be perfect. If it doesn’t, it will still be perfect. I am very ready (mentally. Not sure about physically).

Arriving Thursday, staying at the Fairfield. I’ll be on a Cervelo and wearing Vitruvians. Oh wait…so will everyone else I guess.

Until then…

I’ll be the one riding a Guru, running in Vitruvians, and shivering uncontrollably.

Does anyone know how strict they are about “reflective taping” on clothes and shoes?

I’ll be on a Cervelo and wearing Vitruvians. Oh wait…so will everyone else I guess.

I’m signed up as a volunteer this year, passing out finisher’s certificates on Monday. Would enjoy meeting you, so say hi!!!

I’ll be there and so will my wife. Both riding cervelos but not wearing vitruvians. Man, that water seems really cold. We’re from memphis and it’s about 98 degrees here with humidity in the 90% range, so I’m looking forward to the cool temps, just not the cold water. Anybody got any tips I should know about regarding the swim? Looking forward to it, though.
