I was looking at the 2005 athlete guide and noticed a kid’s race on Thursday. Anyone know more about this? Is it the 5k? What is the age limit? Is it just a run or a mini-triathlon?

My family did it last year. The kids race was a real short run that started and ended at the West end of the park along the short out and back of the run course. The 5k was an open run and my kids/wife/me did this one (11 and 10 years old-kids). It was about 1.25k out and back twice. Both are for fun, there is a clock, but no official timing or placings. For $5 each kid got a Timex Ironkids t-shirt, medal and Gatorade bike bottle and edge bottle. There are no age limits from what I remember, it’s all about raising a few bucks for the local high school team.
