This will be interesting to watch. After a visit to the CDA area, the bike course there is what made me choose IMMO over CDA as my A race '07. This change may be enough to get me heading to Idaho next time around.

Sounds good. I haven’t done the event, but I want to and I always heard the bike course was a bit suspect. Really no reason for that, given the beauty and nice terrain of the area. Does anyone who knows the area want to comment on the new course?

fwiw, I’m a CdA local.

The Rimrock area is nice and rural with several big non-technical rollers. I ride there frequently when doing loops around Hayden Lake. I’d say this is a nice improvement over the old course. But depending on the final course, it will likely involve more climbing.

Apparently, Hayden wants to put the route down Government Way through the city center to make a big event out of it. I never ride on Government if I can avoid it. It’s narrow, crowded with traffic, has stop lights/signs every block, and a rough surface in areas. With serious traffic control and/or road closure, it might work out Ok for race day though. It just sucks for training…

Out of curiosity…what is the name of the bike shop there in CDA? I want to buy one of there shop kits since they are really sharp but can’t find a website. Last year all they had was smalls.

We’ve got a couple of LBS in town, but I’d bet you’re thinking of Vertical Earth. (www.verticalearth.com)

Dats da one.

Thanks

maybe marc mims could go to that g ped web site and get us a elevation profile…looks likes its a done deal

It doesn’t say, but do you think it will be a two loop course or only one?

I believe it is still two loops…but I could be wrong.

Nice. The ride out to Post Falls was not very interesting considering N. Idaho is such a beautiful place. It sound like the route will be much more scenic.
