I was just wondering what the general opinion of the IMC lottery is. I know that there are some who think that there shouldn’t be a lottery for Kona, but it seems to me that the IMC lottery is a different sort of beast. I can’t make it up to BC to register in person, so I was thinking about putting my name in the hat.
Also, does anyone know the odds of getting in through the lottery? The list of 2005 winners looks fairly long, but I don’t know how many people enter.

i like the lottery for both - with kona it gives us mortals a chance - and IM is all about the human experience, correct??
I did the IMC lottery for the 04 race - got in - based on my being a fairly unlucky person I would say your chances are good.
Same here. Did the IMC lottery in 2001 and got in the first time. It seems much easier than Kona although I have never tried for that race. Give it a go! I would do IMC again in a heartbeat. Great race as you know.
