I want to do IMC 2008 as my first IM. Really looking forward to the challenge! 
How will the 2008 registration process work? I know that for2007 you had to be on site in 2006 to register for the 2007 event as its the 25th anniversary. Will that be true for the 2008 event, or will Active.com be an option?
Anyone in the know care to enlighten us? Thanks in advance!

From my understanding on the website it says that from now on you’ll have to be there to register.
IMC hasn’t had online registration, with the expection of a few lottery slots, for several years. I’m not sure they’ve ever had it.

I think it’ll be the same as last year. You’ll have to be there this year to sign up. But you don’t actually pay on site. Basically, we stood in line which moved REALLY fast to get up front. You fill out a form that confirms you’re signing up and they give you a slip of paper with your registration number. You then have two weeks to sign up online with that registration number and pay your dues. Actually, not a bad system as the line was super fast. Last year they didn’t cap entries so you didn’t actually have to line up the night before (of course I didn’t know that until it was too late!). Who knows if they’ll cap it or not next year. But bottom line I’m pretty sure you’ll have to be in town.
I believe that this year you will not be able to have someone signup for you.
